Åkersberga BK 3/5

1- 1 (0 - 1) in a well played game.

Despite  the fact that four out of four defenders were gone and our little engine on the midfield Jessica was sick we managed to draw against Åkerberga. That is really a cause for celebration, a very nice achievement.

Both teams were friendly, the referee was great and overall a great environment to play a game in. Sadly still no grass out in Åkersberga. Buhu:(

Despite the loss off players we decided to keep playing a 2-1-1-2 system.

Playing non-stop as left defender and right defender were Lovisa and Jenny. They played so cool. Åkerbergas' only goal was from a corner and a volley up in the net. A great goal. At that moment we couldn't really argue about it, they were a notch better than us I think.

In the second half Elsa J pull on the goalkeeper kit and relieved Camille. Elsa did not yield a goal, even though it was close sometimes. At the end our two defenders were all drained on energy and the referees whistle signal came as a relief for them. A great performance on an awkward position for those girls.

Olympia

Olympia, magic in action.

A truly great player can play anywhere and Olympia is such a player. A great happiness fills me when I see her play. As a defensive midfielder she deflected almost all attacks from Åkersberga. And her passes were razor sharp to the attacking force. She must have won almost every second ball on the midfield. A raw brutal force with energy to play non stop without a substitute.  The third corner in our defensive structure.

On the attacking side. A three girl line with Roxana-Amanda-Rebecca and Elise-Elsa J/Camille-Mathilda. As offensive midfielder Amanda, Elsa J and Camille did a tremendous job in both periods. They worked all over the pitch and won balls and fed the wing players with passes.

The left wing with Roxana and Elise run a lot and won a lot of balls. They passed into the box nicely and did a good job.

Stockan in Åkerberga

The squad. Jessica came and cheered the team on, that's loyalty.

On the right wing Mathilda and Rebecca ran and bothered Åkerbergas' defensive line during the whole game. In the end, with three minutes left our special goal scorer Rebecca got the chance she needs. With a small flick she ran past the defender and fooled the goalkeeper and shot a goal at the wrong side of the keeper. And first to see if the ball was in the net Roxana, eager to see if it was a rebound she could otherwise net. Rebeccas speed has given our team a new width and depth in the play and made it easier for us to score goals in several different ways.

Overall a nice effort and we will try to continue to build on our tactics with two inner midfielders and two attackers.

Täby IS 4/5

"Do you see the light? I said, 'Do you see the light?'." quote - Blues Brothers. And then Jake gets a revelation.

2 - 1 (1 - 1, 1 - 0, 0 - 0) against Täby in a friendly late on the Monday. After that it was soccer for adults. A great Monday to say the least.

Coming from a team who had a 2008 I do not wish anyone we now have in our last 7 games - 4 victories, 1 draw and 2 losses. For us that is monumentally good.

Well, I don't know what to say. Great. Outstanding of course. Good cooperative game.

The tactics

We met Täby on their pitch in Skarpäng. We played three periods. And as always it is an extreme pleasure to play against the. Over the years they have slughtered us on the pitch but now we have started to get some results with us. That's sweet. The management is nice, really nice. They have over the years always been kind a friendly, and so have their girls as well. A really good team (or two actually) that we wish all the best in Sanktan.

From our point of view we used the now familiar tactics witha three girl attacking line and a three girl defensive line. Formed as triangles with the points pointing towards each other.

                            Tactics

Our tactics with two attackers and one offensive midfielder making up the offensive line-up while a defensive midfielder and the two defenders make up our defensive line-up. And the seventh circle is of course our goal keeper.

We have noticed that we get more stability in the back as well as more power up front when we play like this.

Our wing players released from defensive chores can just fly free as two birds in and out of the opponents defensive line and score goals. And do they produce? Yes, constantly.

For the two inner midfielders this is a heavy job in front of them.  The defensive one must secure the whole area in front of the box when we are pressured as well as being a fourth link in the offensive, all the time. No rest here. The offensive midfielder must act as a playmaker and make sure to feed the two wing players with passes as well as shooting from inside and outside of the box. And when the pressure gets to high on our defense she must help out and clear the area in front of our box. This is a heavy job and you must both be a good player and have a good physics for it.

The two defenders are the key to the build up of our play. we try to avoid having the goal keeper kick out the ball. Instead she shall pass our defenders and we shall start our attacks from the rear and build them up through the midfield. The girls seem to like that kind of game and we get our defenders involved in the game.

The girls

This was a team effort. I just want to mention four of them specially. No disrespect meant to any of those not mentioned.

 Jessica

Jessica - The captain is back on the pitch. Ready to lead the troops to new victories.

Olympia - She has grown out to become a mature player, a nightmare to face on the pitch. Goal scorer with a heavy high shot from outside the box. Yes, a perfect goal.

Elise - She has started to pay off her transfer sum. One goal yesterday. Her first. We could all see the pace she has inside her and when she used it she flew past the defender and scored. Great goal. This looks promising.

Kristina - The heart of the team. She must be one of the best defenders in the Northern hemisphere. No one gets past her and no one can take the ball from her when she starts the attacks. A great player that can play on any position in the team. When she is on the pitch there is no doubt why she is one of our two captains.

The boys

Someone did something to poor Alfreds haircut. Despite that he is a great coach. The girls and I like him and he has pushed the girls up one step on the ladder to excellence and great performance.

The feeling

For me, as long as the girls do their best I am proud of them. No result, good or bad, can take away my warm feelings towards all of them.

For their own sake, I am happy that the result is going in the right direction. That means that after a game they can go home happy and proud of what they have achieved.  And they can see that their struggle on a rainy pitch in February is finally paying off. They are good now. Be happy, be proud.

My company HiQ decided to help out financially with our soccer kit. Thanks for that. Despite being generous they are a great company to work for.
